Handmade Jewelry Display Ideas

Coming up with handmade jewelry display ideas can be a bit tricky, especially if you are new to selling your jewelry. Although make sure you spend some time here because how you display your handmade jewelry is essential to your success.

Showcasing your work is a vital part of the sales process. It doesn't matter which option you have chosen to sell you handmade jewelry, you will still need to come up with a professional display. This applies to taking photographs to sell online, to selling at a local market or craft fair, to organizing a home jewelry party.

If you are photographing your work make sure you consider what's in the background. No one wants to see your furniture, cat or curtains. They want to see your jewelry so make sure you choose a plain background that suits your designs.

If you are selling at a market you may want to consider some more professional stands to display your work. It's not a good idea to have your hand crafted jewelry all on one flat surface. Consider ways to display your work so that it can be spotted easily by people passing by. Display options that have some height are good for visibility.

So where do you find these display stands?

A fabulous place to start is on Ebay. You'll be amazed at what is for sale. It's a wonderful place to pick up display stands very cheaply. There's something for every budget. Here are a few examples I came across today.

Of course there is nothing stopping you from getting a bit more creative when selling your handmade jewelry. You may like to go with a theme. Ruby, a successful jewelry designer shared with me that she often uses drift wood to display her work. Find out lots of other great ideas she shared with me by clicking here and checking out the audio.

So don't be afraid to get creative. Having a display that stands out from the crowd can be a dynamite way to get you and your handmade jewelry noticed by potential customers.

Remember to succeed in selling handmade jewelry you need to look professional. Taking the time to come up with some handmade jewelry display ideas could be one of the best things you do. So give some thought to how you display your jewelry, come up with some creative ideas and then watch the sales flood in.

Secret to Success in a Home Base Jewelry Business

If I had to name the number one reason why so many people don't reach their goals in their home based jewelry businenss, I'd say it's because they just give up . Often they throw in the towel at the first opportunity they get. By this I mean they give up after making their first mistake. Or when they have their first disappointment or set back.

Why do we do this to ourselves?

It's as if we are not allowed to make mistakes. That somehow we have been programmed that all mistakes are bad and that making one means the end of that idea or pursuit. Well I'm here to tell you that talk like that is crazy.

As a mother of three working in my own home based business I can share with you that I've had my share of set backs. In fact I've probably had more than I care to remember. But I'm still here day after day taking steps towards my own personal and business goals.

So why haven't I given up?

Why didn't I crumble at the first set back that came my way?

Here's my secret.

It's because I understood from the outset that I would make mistakes, that I would probably feel awkward and vulnerable at not knowing all the answers.I understood that this was part of the price that I would have to pay, the "rite of passage" so to speak of branching out and becoming successful at my own business. And I'm here to tell you that at times the going can get tough working in a home based business. There will be times when you will feel like pulling your hair out, when everything doesn't go to plan. You'll want to blame someone else but then you'll realize there's no one to blame. That you're the boss now and the buck stops with you. But when this happens to you you can approach the situation in two different ways. You can "rant and rave" and make the people around you miserable (the approach most people opt for) or you can smile and acknowledge that you are getting closer to your goals because you have just learnt something.

That's right. Every mistake or set back that comes your way will have a lesson for you. Look for the lesson and realize that it was sent to you for a reason. By adopting this approach, all of a sudden the mistakes and set backs take on less power. You will no longer take them to heart or consider them a personal failure. You'll understand that they are part of the process and journey of succeeding in your own home based jewelry business.

Once you master this mind set there'll be no stopping you.

What You Must Know Before Starting Your Own Home Based Jewelry Business

If you want to start your own home based jewelry business then you need to be serious about it. That doesn't mean you have to walk around straight faced and not crack a smile. It means that you need to plan to succeed and do the "hard yards".

Working from home can be wonderful. I know because that's what I do. It certainly has a lot of advantages compared with the hard slog of working 9-5 in an office. However it's not all fun and games either. If you are serious about your business being successful then you need to be serious about your work hours.

There are more distractions around you like the ironing that needs to be done or the bedroom that needs a tidy. So you need to become very disciplined and set aside a certain number of hours each day for your business. This means that you will have to educate your family and friends. Just a few interruptions such as a phone call from a well meaning family member or a friend who pops in for chat can consume a whole day. And it's your business that will suffer. Sure be flexible, that's one of the advantages of having your own home based jewelry business but decide how many hours you need to work on your business and then stick to it.

I record each hour spent on my business in a diary. This keeps me accountable because I am now the boss and the buck stops with me.

Another trap for creative people who love to make things is that they can spend all their allocated time on making new pieces of jewelry.Whilst this is an important part of the business it's not the only task that needs to get done. Make sure you allocate to all areas of the business such as accounting and book keeping, sourcing new suppliers, advertising etc I know these may not be as enjoyable but they are crucial to your business success.

If you're serious about your home based jewelry business other people will be serious about it as well and so will your customers. Be professional and your home based jewelry business will flourish.

Amazing Review about Home Based Jewelry Business ebook

If you are thinking about starting your own home based jewelry business then you should check out this review from All Info About. Seems Anne Helmenstine likes my ebook . Here's what she had to say:
" First off, let me say, as someone who has been self-employed for over ten years and has owned and operated a home-based jewelry making business, I'm a critical judge of advice written about how to start and grow this type of business. Therefore, I was really pleased to see this book met and exceeded my expectations for how to tell someone how to decide on starting a business, actually start it, grow it, and maintain it. You could call this book "Small Business 101 for Home-Based Jewelry Makers".
Anne gives a very good summary of the information that the ebook covers. So if a home based jewelry business is something you could be good at Click here to read the complete review

Happy jewelry making!

Secret Tip For Getting Organized in Your Home Businesss
Running a business from home can be a nightmare if you do not organize yourself.
One tip that I'd like to share with you is to establish a book or folder for recording valuable information. Divide this book up into sections. One section for your customers and one for your suppliers Do not rely on your memory. When you find a new customer or supplier, write down their name (very important) and their contact details. Getting a data base of customers is very important. You can then forward them special offers or a monthly newsletter.
Keeping track of where you sourced your supplies from is also a good idea. That way if you run out of a certain bead you can easily track down some more. I grab business cards whenever I can and stick them in the book together with a few personal details to help me remember the contact.
I have found this little trick invaluable. Hope it works for you as well.
